Interesting! I have said for a very long time that we “hear” a lot with our eyes! I have said this because I worked in a place where there are people from all over the world and few native American English speakers. I’ve noticed that when I speak to them I have less problems face to face vs. over the telephone. I concluded that we hear a lot with our eyes!
